Capital Punishment

Capital punishment is one of the ways to punish a criminal. In society, capital punishment still becomes pro and contra. Many people believe that capital punishment can make people discourage to do crime. On the other hand, capital punishment make the criminal haven’t  opportunity to correcting their self. According to me, capital punishment should be not allowed.

The first reason is capital punishment is not relevant with Human Values that is Right to Life. There is no any laws that be agreed to take of human soul because that is prerogative right of God. For instance, in June, 2006, Filipina erase capital punishment in their country.

The second reason is capital punishment make criminal don’t have chance to correcting their self. The criminal can’t repair their mistake and don’t have chance reaccepted in society. They only become a criminal in society forever. For example, case of Amrozi cs, criminal in Bom Bali I, in year 2002, get capital punishment.

The third reason is capital punishment don’t bring discourage effect. Many cases have solution by capital punishment, but no positive impact which expected from doing capital punishment. For example, crime of narcotic in Indonesia is not decreasing every year, although the criminal of narcotic get capital punishment.

The last reason is capital punishment is final type punishment. If the process of investigation and disconnection of law have mistake, it has bad impact for the criminal which can’t be fee after adjudging is dropped. For example, capital punishment for Sengkon and Karta, in year 1980, in Indonesia.

In brief, capital punishment should be not allowed because not appropriate with Right of Life, can’t give chance for someone to change, don’t bring discourage effect and the type is final punishing.
